Shinko, in business since 1946, manufactures high-quality tires using equipment, motorcycle tire technology, and molds they acquired from Yokohama Rubber Co. in the ’90s. Some of their tried-and-true designs like the Super Classic have become trusted staples in the V-twin, classic, and custom worlds.

These tires exhibit excellent road manners, good grip, and acceptable wear characteristics. Being designed originally for spoked wheels, they are tube-type tires and of bias-ply construction. The Super Classic is a popular option for old Harley-Davidson motorcycles as well as more modern bikes that are well-served by a tire that has the classic looks of yesteryear. 

If you are swapping these tires onto an application that used metric sizing, remember that the Super Classic features a full aspect ratio sidewall—use a 100% aspect ratio for back-of-the-napkin height calculations.
